A few years ago, I spent a month in the Philippines. While there I had the opportunity to spend a day with an organization call Safe Refuge. Safe Refuge is a non-profit that works with helping women get out of prostitution and bad relationships. They give them a place to live, help them get educations and show them the love they need. While there I met some amazingly strong women with heartbreaking stories. I specifically remember one woman saying her family sold her. They SOLD her. It was not her choice and she is just one of many women who experience similar things. A few years later one of my friends who was on the trip returned to the Philippines and was able to spend even more time with the women of Safe Refuge. After returning to the states she wanted to do more: that's where Chained with Them comes in. The proceeds of these shirts go to helping these women and raising awareness to stop human trafficking. So more than anything else take a moment and go to chainedwiththem.wixsite.com/website and either donate or buy a shirt. Modern day sex slaver is real and horrifying.  More of us need to be apart of putting a stop to it. This is the first of several shoots I will be doing for Chained with Them as they release new products and work to raise awareness.
